Honestly? I think I’d rather keep the cancer, thanks…

December 10, 2015 By Kathy Shaidle

The Teenage Cancer Trust is one of The Who’s big charities, which is why I’ve heard of them.

For some reason, a bunch of people got it into their heads to put out a fundraising album of ska bands covering Clash songs, to raise money for TCT.

They’re partnered with something called the National Foundation for Youth Music. All of which is super ironic because half the band members look about my age.

Ska is much harder to do well than we might think; if you grew up spoiled by real Jamaican ska and then the Specials et al, the tinny, off key noise of “ska revival” is simply unlistenable unless you’re very drunk and surrounded by a hundred or so people.

And Mick, really: How high were you when you signed off on this?
