The meaning of Bill Murray

December 10, 2015 By Kathy Shaidle

When all you GenXers/millennials find out he was really a horrible asshole (and that IS coming, right?) then what?

Bill Murray now rivals Elvis Presley “in image appropriated bric-a-brac,” reports Steven Kurutz in The New York Times ( 12/4/15).”On Etsy, you can buy: a ‘Saint Bill Murray’ prayer candle … a set of Bill Murray coasters; coffee mugs … a baby mobile with dangling felt dolls representing his movie characters; and much, much more … The actor has little or nothing to do with these products and seems not to have brought legal action. People are strangely moved to make this stuff and others to purchase it … It’s clear he’s come to symbolize something, but what, exactly?”
