Results of the Sotheby’s rock and punk auction

June 25, 2014 By Kathy Shaidle

I’m taken aback by what didn’t sell, like a sanely-priced With the Beatles signed by all four, whereas a Candlestick Park poster did sell and for way above the estimate.

Yeah, nobody wanted the “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” ms, especially for a quarter of a million bucks.

An original print of the now-kiddie-porn “Blind Faith” photo (the Seventies were different, man…) went way over.

I get the feeling two people were duelling for the Blondie items, which also went over.

Someone paid 10 times the estimate for a naked picture of Madonna, though.

The punk stuff that did go went around the estimate price, but alas, the CRASS drum head went unsold.
