Actually, this “experiment” is quite well-known — there are movies about it — and I’m not sure how “cruel” it is to prove to idiots how stupid they are.
It’s just that the whole “Nazi = boo!!!” stuff is so funny.
It was 1967, no obviously the teacher wasn’t about to switch out “Nazi” for “Commie.”
