5 Feet of Fury

But what if ‘only’ 1.5 percent of your time adds up to eight whole hours?

Cuz that’s how long Dr. Welner spent interviewing Omar Khadr.

(Did Jonathan Kay spend eight hours interviewing any one individual for his last book? What about more than “once”?)

And surely the “hundreds of hours” Dr. Welner billed for included more than his one phone call with Sennels. (Even mentioning those other “hundreds of hours” undermines Kay’s case.)

So Welner obviously spoke to, and read the research of, other individuals. His report is over 60 pages long.

Are Kay & friends suggesting the entire report is based on that one call, and goes like this?

Anthony: Hello? Rico?
Rico: Hello?
Anthony: Rico?
Rico: Hello.
Anthony: Rico?
Rico: I can’t hear you.
Anthony: Is that you, Rico? I can’t hear you.
Rico: What?
Anthony: Can you hear me?
Rico: Hello?
Anthony: Rico?
Rico: We have a bad connection.
Anthony: Can you hear me?
Rico: Hello?
Anthony: Rico?
Rico: Hello?
Anthony: Operator, we have a bad connection.
Operator: Hang up and dial again, sir.
Rico: Hello?

Let’s review:

A guy wrote an article about a guy who talked to a guy on the phone once. Then Jonathan Kay wrote an article about the article.

Is Kay pretending he doesn’t know how dumb it looks to pick out one guy’s name out of a huge report, then claim that the government is “relying on the testimony” of that one person to fight Khadr’s repatriation?

Is Kay just hoping nobody else will notice?
