That was very moving!
Thanks to David Janes for graciously hosting 5FF for free all these years. We agreed, though, that one day he was gonna be on vacation, and the blog would have “issues” and I’d be left in the lurch.
So I have moved over to a server at DreamHost.
I use them for other blogs, but have never had to use their tech support before. Wow! They were amazingly attentive and patient, basically spending all afternoon holding my hand, doing backend stuff for me and basically getting me back up and running, with a mighty assist from David playing “the cop who’s retiring at the end of the shift.”
However:
I have two big deadlines for Monday morning, some small assignments from other clients — and we’d already set aside today for spring cleaning.
And, you know… Celebrity Apprentice…
So 5FF won’t be 100% back to normal until… later!
