Take this, for example:

But I can’t take someone that gluttonous and unkempt seriously, or respect the opinions of a man I’d have wanted to slap silly in person for being such a flake.

Hundreds of authors have written equally clever things without “forgetting” to wear shoes in public. This is just attention getting eccentricity and neurosis of the sort no woman could have gotten away with.

But of course, he had a wife to steer him through life. So convenient!

All those donnish Inklings types have the same effect on me. Ugh.

There are times when those complaints about “Dead White Males” make abundant sense.
