Surely from your time hanging about the newsroom, you’ve picked up the whole notion of “context” somewhere along the line.
The “Jap” and “Chink” quotes, to take just one example, were used by Steyn to MAKE FUN OF people who’d use such words. The same applies to his comments on Rush Limbaugh.
I see you’ve been dutifully googling Steyn’s critics, as these are their favourite talking points. Too bad you didn’t actually read or listen to Steyn in the original, but then again, I don’t expect such thoroughness from today’s journalists anyway.
I was especially amused by your prim, prissy advice to Steyn about how better to “get his point across.” Funny that: his columns, unlike yours, are carried in major newspapers and magazines the world over. His much maligned book is a #1 bestseller twice over, and has been recommended by heads of state to their cabinets. Again, as your name is unfamiliar to me, I’m assuming you haven’t found yourself in similar circumstances.
How he’s so far managed to “get his point across” without your mediocre advice is certainly a mystery…
Your laziness is only surpassed by your schoolmarmish smugness and obvious envy.
Do go back to your third tier scribblings and leave the geniuses to work unmolested.
