It’s pretty rich when “educated” Muslims such as these criticize “infidel” books, articles and authors for (sniff!) not being “scholarly”. Their culture produces more illiterates than almost any other on the planet, and their idea of “scholarship” consists of false claims about the greatness of Islamic culture and bizarre pseudo-scientific claptrap about the Koran.
“Don’t take this book seriously. This is just propaganda. It’s not a scholarly work.”
This was the caution posed by a self-proclaimed progressive Muslim who sits on a board of Canada’s most prominent group working for freedom of expression.
The caution was about Mark Steyn’s book, America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It.
