5 Feet of Fury

Joseph Farah and WND.com owe me thousands of dollars, going back to September

Farah approached me years ago to write a weekly “Talk Radio Watch” column, a weekly roundup of conservative talk radio highlights.

It’s always a bonus to get paid to do what you’d do anyhow — in this case, listening to Limbaugh and others — so I didn’t hesitate to say yes.

That led to my also putting together the daily newsletter for one of talk radio’s biggest names, under WND.com auspices, and writing up occasional quick & dirty pieces when Rush Limbaugh said something particularly noteworthy and controversial.

Then last year, the demands of new gigs made it impossible for me to continue writing for WND.com. There are only so many hours in the day, after all.

And there was another issue:

I always had to beg WND.com to pay me.

I mean, every month. If I didn’t email Accounts Payable with “Just a friendly reminder…” in the subject line, my cheque would be “forgotten.” Lots of apologies. The cheque would show up a week later. But again: EVERY MONTH.

And I’m too old for that crap.

So it didn’t break my heart to resign all my duties at WND.com. But in a way it’s like I’m still working there because they owe me a total of US$2,150, which is almost $3000 Canadian. The oldest invoice is for September’s work. Then there’s October. And November.

On the last day of December, I deposited the cheque for August.

Last week, in my most recent begging email, I told Farah & WND.com that I planned to go public. So here I am. I’m also taking to Twitter and Facebook.

Joseph Farah claims to value “no-nonsense truth-telling,” so let’s see what happens.
