Kathy Shaidle has often blogged about the Hard Hat riot of New York in 1970. I have a degree in history, and I have read all kinds of articles about the unrest of the sixties, and never had I come across this story before I read about it from her. This multi-part history documentary, produced in 1999 by ABC News, talks about the Hard Hat Riot. (If it doesn’t take you to the right spot, it starts at 14:04 in the video).
