Did Joe Pesci steal his schtick from a guy named Everett Chambers?

January 19, 2015 By Kathy Shaidle

I watched Too Late Blues (1962) on TCM.

I’m not a jazz musician, but I’m not sure how “authentic” a movie about them is when none of them are junkies. It was still pretty compelling, and if you love that era, don’t miss it.

Having said that, one thing that stood out was the performance of Everett Chambers.

He went on to become a TV producer and writer, maybe because there isn’t or wasn’t a lot of call for quietly angry little fireplug type guys.

But boy, did he remind me of Joe Pesci.
