I can understand why dopey whites embrace black culture, be it Mailer’s “hipster” or Black Power or rap: It looks great and has fun lingo and a pretty good soundtrack if you like that sort of thing.
But Islam, with the ratty beards and ugly clothes? WTF?
I always remind people that “‘cool’ is not a Christian virtue” and that we shouldn’t judge everything based on its shallow, even decadent standards.
But if society has lost the ability to at least predict youth-rebellion behavior based on the power of “cool” then all bets are off.
