Does the person writing this know what year “Rear Window” came out?

Stewart’s pajamas demonstrate his character’s sense of social propriety.  He prides himself on being a rough-and-tumble news photographer, and believes that the refined Grace Kelly would never fit into his world, but wearing pajamas demonstrates how he is not as earthy or rugged as he would like to believe.  If he were, he would be unshaven, wearing boxer shorts and T-shirt.
