The Nation’s Michelle Goldberg is wrong: We are not ‘entering a new era of political correctness’

April 8, 2014 By Kathy Shaidle

This is the same era of political correctness my lefty friends and I used to laugh about back in the late 1980s, when we heard about another lefty chick, in England, who wanted to ban Black Beauty because it had the word “black” in the title.

I remember very little about those years — thank you, alcohol! — but I have never forgotten the day we were all sitting on my lumpy couch, smoking too many cigarettes, making fun of this dame and her “something out of Monty Python!” endeavor.

It is now 25 YEARS LATER.

All our laughing and tsking has done nothing to stay the avalanche of toxic, sometimes fatal stupidity coming from your side.

The next person who utters the phrase “Why, it’s political correctness gone mad!” in my general vicinity may not survive their injuries.
