This almost makes up for Taylor Swift’s induction last year

The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday that the legendary Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff will be the 2014 recipients of the Johnny Mercer Award.

Along with being the masterminds behind Philadelphia International Records, Gamble and Huff have written over 3,500 songs including 75 that have received RIAA gold and platinum awards.

Among their many hits are Don’t Leave Me This Way, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, Only the Strong Survive, For the Love of Money, Me and Mrs. Jones, You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine and TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)
