NME picks 100 Best Songs of the 1970s

February 1, 2014 By Kathy Shaidle

Something to delight and/or infuriate everyone.

Considering the source, the sheer volume of disco (and Springsteen) may surprise some.

Other extremely Brit-centric titles will leave some of our more bumpkinish American friends scratching their heads (or other body parts):

Still others will be outraged that “Another Girl, Another Planet” only ranks #76.

“Rock crit” faves like Alex Chilton, Can and Nick Drake place, of course.

It should have been called “best singles” and not “songs.”
