Jim Goad remembers Al Goldstein

December 23, 2013 By Kathy Shaidle

Over the years I wrote a few articles for SCREW, Goldstein’s filthy flagship that he launched in 1968, and everyone who’d ever worked for him said he was a sexually predatory lech (if they were a female) or a cheap, abusive boss (if they were dudes). Still, he was the most caustic, brash, and abrasive voice of porn’s golden era, a man as dirty and fat as if he’d eaten all the XXX grindhouses in Times Square. He was pornography incarnate.
