Thanks to the loyal 5FF reader who sent me this comment thread, prompted by last night’s “sucker punch in the comedy club after a reporter panned the comic’s act on Twitter” story.
So that makes me, Mark Steyn (who always says he’d prefer to settle these asinine disputes “outside”) — and now this guy:
I’m actually down with more digital arguments spilling over into the real world. Let’s not forget that duels, in the day, were both a check against casual libel and, oddly enough, a measure of progress – systematizing otherwise random and violent fights in defense of one’s reputation. I do think there’s something to be said for defending one’s honor, otherwise the biggest shithead with the biggest mouth and the best lawyer can bully whoever they want whenever they want to.
Having said that, if this was a sucker punch (which I assume it was) then fuck this guy. Also he’s not that funny.
