And I will repeat what I said before: No Muslim students coming here with visas. No more mosques being built here until you stand up and denounce what’s happened in the name of your prophet. It is not what your prophet meant as soon [sic] as I know. I don’t know his mother’s name and I don’t care. The point is, that the time has come for Muslims in this country and other people in the world to stand up and be counted, and if you can’t, you’re cowards.”
WashTimes blogger Bob Taylor adds:
There is, however, a major flaw in Mr. Beckel’s comments. In almost every instance he complains to non-vocal Muslim listeners that they are not following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. That is where he gets sidetracked
Apparently Beckel is confusing the teachings of Christ with those of Muhammad, but there can be no comparison. Jesus Christ never fought a war during his entire lifetime. In the last ten years Muhammad was in power, he led or fought in more than 80 battles.
In 627, following a major conflict known as “The Battle of the Ditch (Trench),” Muhammad enslaved the women and children of his defeated enemies.
Muhammad retained one-fifth of the spoils for himself but, in the aftermath of his victory, he also lined up more than 500 male members of his vanquished foes and beheaded them one by one as their wives and children watched.
