5 Feet of Fury

Smithsonian searching for ‘missing’ Berry Gordy portrait that you just know somebody stole

I mean: come on.

BTW: What else to you think the Detroit News gets spectacularly yet casually wrong each and every day? This is utterly absurd and impossible:

DeVon Cunningham was commissioned by Anna Gordy Gaye — Berry’s sister and wife of recording artist Marvin Gaye — for the portrait. It was just after the artist made national news for painting a black Jesus Christ, surrounded by a multicultural cadre of angels, that is above the altar of St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church on Detroit’s west side. The painting nearly got the parish priest, Father Ray Ellis, and Cunningham ex-communicated by Rome. It also made Gordy’s sister think the artist was the right person to capture her remarkable brother.
