Who are Silicon Valley’s free speech ‘Deciders’?

April 30, 2013 By Kathy Shaidle

In The New Republic, a peek inside the ongoing debate in Silicon Valley about what is and isn’t “hate speech,” and the difficulties they have obeying widely divergent (and often idiotic) laws.

Some of this is heartening and some of it deeply depressing.

Ultimately, cheering or booing each individual “win” or “loss” is a waste of time.

Unless we develop our own platforms, we are at the mercy of companies that are simply going to be run by younger and younger (and therefore, dumber and dumber) kids as time goes by.
