Nice to see mainstream newspaper columnists saying what I’ve been saying for years, if not coming to the same conclusions.
I’ve been widely denounced as a “racist” merely for pointing out that one day, the Hockey Hall of Fame will be replaced by a Soccer Museum; that having thick-accented Filipinas nursing deaf old Irish women may not be the most wonderful development; that “all those great restaurants” come with a downside.
Of course, I don’t say it as nicely as Ibbitson, and he’s a liberal so we don’t actually agree on the outcome, just the pattern of change — but the only reason he can write something like this is because cranks like me paved the way and made him look moderate by comparison.
Most importantly, they declare something I’ve been declaring for years, and frankly, helping hasten:
The liberal Canadian elite don’t matter much anymore.
They’re still hanging on, making funny noises and occasionally persecuting my friends and I, but ultimately, they’re dying off.
We just need to outlive them.
