Researching my next Taki’s piece, I was reminded of this:

[Auberon Waugh] He saw this as one of his proudest journalistic achievements, along with another some years later [in the early 1970s] when a column of his in the Times, which included a flippant joke about the prophet Mohammed, led an enraged mob to burn down the British Council building in Rawalpindi.
