Is 6000 books really a high number?

October 24, 2012 By Kathy Shaidle

I estimated my “number” at just over half that, and that was in the late 90s.

A warning to young folks: be careful what you read as a child and your teens and twenties.

I can still remember entire paragraphs of a TIME magazine profile of Woody Allen circa Annie Hall, and (frankly, quite handy) bits from The Book Of Lists, but today, approaching 50, I have to read some sentences in new books over and over again just to get from initial cap to period without nodding off.

I’m proud to say I can’t form a French sentence either. (I also refused to learn metric.) »
