Thanks to the loyal 5FF reader who found this Gallup study, challenging the Richard Florida bullshit about how gays have more disposable income, are more educated and therefore serve as the great urban civilizers.
I expect the lesbians are bringing down the income average, because like most women, they are attracted to stupid, pointless, low paying jobs like social worker.
Unlike gay men, lesbians can’t usually get away with looking the way they prefer to look in a corporate environment. They’re lesbians because they DON’T want to wear pantyhose and heels.
And note the “some college, but no degree”: Are lesbians too neurotic, flaky and or drunk to finish school?
According to the survey, conducted between June and September, 4.6 per cent of African-Americans were LGBT, along with four per cent of Hispanics, 4.3 per cent of Asians and 3.2 per cent of Caucasians.
Overall, a third of those identifying as LGBT are non-white, the report said.
Demographer Gary Gates, of the UCLA School of Law’s Williams Institute, said: ‘Contemporary media often think of LGBT people as disproportionately white, male, urban and pretty wealthy.
‘But this data reveals that, relative to the general population, the LGBT population has a larger proportion of non-white people and clearly is not overly wealthy.’
