Jon Stewart is such an asshole.
I heard another asshole say this last night, when my mother-in-law had on the wrong station.
Obama said, “If you have a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. (…) I get a kick out of people saying, ‘Well, it must be because I’m so smart.”
First of all, if Obama WAS talking about “the infrastructure,” then he’s wrong because if you had a business during the Eisenhower administration, your taxes DID build the interstate highway system. The money didn’t come from the magical Keebler Elf money tree.
And of course, businesses also built “the infrastructure” by manufacturing the machinery and operating it — at least, back in the old days when Americans did that stuff.
But clearly Obama didn’t mean that, because what being “so smart” then has to do with the “infrastructure” is beyond me. Engineers aren’t smart…? Huh?
No, he was obviously referring to one’s personal success — a topic he knows nothing about, not really, because he is the affirmative action president and nothing he has ever “accomplished,” including getting elected president, really “counts.”
