‘ William Raspberry Obituaries Fail to Note Famous Change of Mind About Rush Limbaugh’

July 18, 2012 By Kathy Shaidle

A must-read from Newsbusters:

The obituaries in both the Post and the New York Times noted that while Raspberry was generally considered a liberal, he often expressed opinions that defied easy labels.

Perhaps the most famous such case of an unconventional Raspberry column, which neither newspaper mentioned, was when he publicly changed his opinion of Rush Limbaugh after listening to his program.

This was described through the years by Limbaugh as the Raspberry Effect…

This is so true that it’s become tiresome:

The three people the American Left (and even many conservatives) hate the most — besides Sarah Palin — are Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck.

Nine out of 10 times, if you ask these people if they have ever listened to Rush’s show, or read Coulter’s books, they will — proudly! — say “No!”

I thought the same thing about Rush Limbaugh before I ever listened to him:

He’s just some bellowing blowhard, screaming obscenities into the microphone.

Now: there ARE “right wing” (and left wing) radio hosts who fit that description.

But Rush Limbaugh is not one of them.
