Much deserved kudos to Blazing Cat Fur for breaking this and many other stories that end up gaining wider coverage, often without credit. Arnie’s done some terrific work and may well be one of the best investigative bloggers in Canada.
Unfortunately, perhaps (depending on how one chooses to look at it) the substance of certain stories inevitably ends up becoming a bigger and more interesting story/issue than that of the name of the reporter/blogger who broke the story, causing the intrepid sleuthing of said blogger/reporter to be reduced in its significance relative to the story itself. If there’s a silver lining here, it’s that once an investigative story of Arnie’s is “ripped off” without attribution (which, you have noted on more than a few occasions on your own site, has happened regularly to other of his breaking stories) and starts to gain wider coverage, such non-sourced multiple reiterations are a compliment, really, a testimony to both his sleuthing and his finely-tuned sense of what matters to conservatives, and are not indicative of any desire whatsoever on the part of those who discover the story through one of the non-sourced reiterations to deprive your husband of his much deserved credit.
With or without attribution, he should be proud of the widespread dissemination of the fruits of his creative labours, as should you, by association. Think “Beowulf”, perhaps.
