‘They’re talking about a burger and a Coke’

June 5, 2012 By Kathy Shaidle

This must mean that the “American Graffiti” movie is the equivalent of “Triumph of the Will.”

Writes James Lileks, who, alas, hobbles an otherwise decent “bleat” with this:

But if soda is poison, then portion size is irrelevant. The Mr Yuk stickers don’t say “call 911 but only if you drank a lot of bleach. A little is okey-doke, though.” So it’s not a poison unless you drink huge amounts all the time, which is also true of shampoo and vodka and sugary lemonade little kids sell at card tables on the corner in summer, and motor oil. Right? So it’s not poison.

***
See, I’m confused, and I think he is too, because one sentence contradicts the other.

Is it, or is it not, true that “the dose makes the poison“?
