5 Feet of Fury

‘Obama seems at ease in the presence of soldiers and sailors … He is an avid viewer of (…) ‘Mad Men”

OK — this morning, I kinda sorta thought Ed Driscoll had cleverly invented the “excerpts” from the new Obama bio that’s excerpted in WaPo, just so he could have Iowahawk-y fun on a slow news day.

Ed quotes the biography:

“Clinton grew up wanting to be JFK, but Obama thinks more like him.”

Now I’m pretty sure JFK was still thinking more coherently than Obama, even with half his brain tumbling behind his back.

But I’ll let Ed Driscoll react in a calmer fashion, to wit:

He does? The guy who launched his political career in Bill Ayers’ living room? Who spent 20 years at the foot of Rev. Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright’s pulpit? Who during his stopover for coffee in the Senate dressed down Gen. Petraeus? Whose early campaign ad promised he would gut military spending? Who returned the Churchill bust to England? The guy who says “Corpse-man?”

Now after Coffee #2, I realize this bio-excerpt is NOT a joke.

Steve Sailer’s having a lark too, with the (actual, authentic, real) quote I used as the title of my post.

Sailer quips:

Headlines of upcoming parts of David Maraniss’s series:

“How Watching The Sopranos Makes Obama More or Less Italian”

“How Watching The Walking Dead Strengthens Obama’s Connection to Crucial Zombie Swing Vote”

***
Both of which actually make more sense than the original bizarroworld quote Sailer’s riffing on.

But just a reminder:

Steve Sailer isn’t getting six-figure advances (I’m guessing) to write Presidential bios that get excerpted in WaPo and talked about for weeks.
