Well, as a Cardiologist who resigned from the American College of Physicians because of their support for Obamacare, I have to say that the author’s understanding of the 45 new recommendations is completely incorrect and that the above poster is closer to the truth. The new recommendations are intended to eliminate unnecessary and wasteful care. Face it, there’s a lot. (…)

The oncology recommendations are based on the fact that 4th line chemotherapy is associated with 0% improvement. When my 94 year old grandmother’s oncologist recommended radiation therapy, she had it over my recommendations. She developed radiation enteritis, and then needed an amputation. The last year of her life was miserable. Did that oncologist get paid by the treatment? You bet he did.
