Tragic policeman David Rathband admitted having an affair shortly before he killed himself, it was claimed yesterday.
PC Rathband, 44, who was blinded by gunman Raoul Moat, is said to have confessed to his estranged wife, Kath, that he cheated with a woman he met through his charity work.
After separating in August, the couple, who had been married for 20 years, had tried to rebuild their relationship. But the discovery of his alleged infidelity reportedly drove Mrs Rathband, 42, to demand a divorce.
