- A friend emails: “And yet… David Frum lives…“
- “Farewell to Bo Diaz”
- UPDATE: “Andrew Breitbart died today. But he took David Frum’s last shred of credibility with him…”Do read that post at Ace of Spades. No, it is not an Iowahawk satire — David Frum really is dancing (albeit without a shred of rhythm) on Breitbart’s (still in the process of being dug) grave. And Ace lets him have it with furious eloquence. One to bookmark, folks, to remember how its done.
Yeah, it must be tough being David Frum, winner of the genetic media lottery, who couldn’t keep his own website going for more than a year — and would never have THOUGHT to start FrumForum had the likes of BigHollywood never existed. Now everyone is talking about that stupid dead Breitbart guy instead of HIM.
WOTa shameless motherf*cker.

I always had mixed feelings about Breitbart.
I admired his indomitable courage (which I tended to attribute to a bit of pathological recklessness and his own admitted ADHD).
I figured he’d one day get fed up with the Right (I heard rumblings to that effect last time he sat in for Dennis Miller — who’ll you’ll want to listen to today at 10am ET I expect), and release all his emails and other paperwork to destroy people he felt had betrayed or disappointed him.
He was so hyper, so mercurial, so reckless — in a way I’m not surprised he seems to have just sort of… burst.
Disillusionment might have been impossible for an idealist like him to cope with, anyway, and I think the next election would have killed him anyhow.
He also sometimes looked pretty rough on TV. When you add that to the recklessness — well, this here addict often wondered…
I feel awful for his four children.
And I’m more upset than I expected I would be.
“Expected” because as I say, I never thought he was long for this world.
(PS — go to PJMedia for updates, tributes. Mediaite is a horribly written site, but they’ve got lots of coverage. Note the “comments removed” in the comments beneath this post.)
I once told Andrew Lawton that this video would probably be picked to accompany Breitbart’s obit. I didn’t expect I’d be posting it for a while though.
