is now out on Kindle, courtesy of Carrick Publishing. Brisk sales will no doubt fuel the possiblity of more conventional publication later. Hint, hint, hint, hint…. “I have written hundreds of columns, reports, magazine pieces, chapters for other peoples books, encyclopedia entries and whatnot, but this is the first book that is mine alone.
“This was a hobby at first (on the old Compuserve History Forum), evolved into a calendar, got personalized when I loaded in a year’s worth of vignettes about sundry individuals and then got converted into a conventional chronology. I latter expanded it with some commentary (some of which is the best prose I have yet written). The end result is that I’ve explained some things about the war most people never knew, integrated the entire conflict into a whole and interlaced it with hundreds of invidividual stories and perhaps made the history compelling again.
“All authors rely on word of mouth to help market their book, and in these days of Facebook and Twitter, this is especially important. Except that few of you habituate these social media fora anyway, but if any of you moonlight as “the Masked Blogger”… I’d be obliged.
