‘Jeremy Clarkson’s critics should be taken out and shot’

December 2, 2011 By Kathy Shaidle

Delingpole:

For one thing, being an informed fellow he would be perfectly aware that the government simply hasn’t the money to spend on bullets right now.

For at least the last fifty years “they should be taken out and shot,” has been a socially acceptable, perfectly unexceptionable way of expressing colourfully and vehemently one’s distaste towards a particular category of unpleasantness…

Brendan O’Neill:

Is this what industrial action has been reduced to: trying to get people sacked because you don’t like what they think or say? It’s kind of ironic, and also evidence that modern trade unions are far more obsessed with scoring PR points against chattering-class hate figures than they are with improving workers’ lives and liberties.
