The comments are interesting, too — but note: Carolla isn’t Jewish.
His step-grandfather was, however, and to hear Carolla tell it, he was the only person in his family who made sure he was properly fed and otherwise cared for.
So he jokes that he is more or less an honorary — if secular — Jew.
Carolla’s stage performances include a slide show; when he performed in Toronto, a snapshot of his grandfather flashed on the screen and half the audience yelled out, “Lotzi!!”
