Remake has been turned into a dirty word, but this is one of those instances where it’s not. Noe’s a gifted artist and God Told Me To is an incredibly rich piece of work to which such an artist could bring something new and interesting and unique. With the science-versus-religion theme at the center of it, it’d also make — as I’m sure it did in 1976 and will still in 2036 — for a provocative time at the movies. I’m really hoping this moves forward.
