I’m a lifelong fan, but this coming from Jones doesn’t surprise me.
Note his interesting rationale behind making Life of Brian (as he remembers it at this late date):
They decided to make fun of religion because they felt religion was dead, a non-issue, so no one would care.
Of course, people did. (And proceeded to make utter fools of themselves.)
Jones is half full of sh*t here.
But these guys helped make my childhood and adolescence 50% less hellish, so I can be too hard on them.
