5 Feet of Fury

Part time Sears Catalogue model Dan Gardner’s attempts to smear Mark Steyn fail again

Hmmmm:

“Seamus Milne in The Guardian selectively quotes Europol figures to downplay the Islamist terrorist threat and to suggest that Right-wing terrorism is a greater threat than Islamist.”

My husband follows up:

The UK isn’t the only country with “alleged” journalists who choose to ignore facts, we have Dan Gardner of the Ottawa Citizen who used the 2010 Europol report and the same specious reasoning employed by Seamus Milne to slag Mark Steyn. Dan conveniently chose to ignore the number of Islamist terrorists who were arrested* by security services and instead focused on the total of successful Islamist terrorist actions, in order to downplay the threat of Islamist terrorism.

It appears that Danny Boy’s original column which was disappeared from the National Post has now also been disappeared from the Ottawa Citizen.

But back to Seamus:

We got some insider information on this guy that sounds like a paragraph out of Paul Johnson’s Intellectuals:

“I knew Seamus Milne. Super-rich and super-privileged.

Daddy was Director-General of the BBC.

When I knew him he was having an affair with the wife of another lefty journalist, Ed Vulliamy. Louise Saunders, the wife in question, was a good friend of mine.

Ed’s sister was a pro-Palestinian extremist long before it was fashionable.

Ed, however, was also having an affair – so I suppose it was okay.

These people enjoy privilege and an assumption of power that you and I could never comprehend. Mind you, they are not fools.

Different league from Canadian leftists, so dangerous.”
