‘The hard fact is that Somalia is the author of its own misfortune’

Truly impressive post by Frank Hilliard:

Somalia used to be a food exporting country and its main river never runs dry. They could have created infrastructure, built irrigation systems (like the Italians before them), and saved food for the lean years.

Did they? No.

Famine is only possible when societies fail in their duties to themselves. Famine is an issue of personal, and national, responsibility.

If Somalia really wanted to get its act together, it would drop Islam, adopt a more Western focused system of law and morality and get on with building the country.

Meanwhile in Edmonton, Somali families are fleeing because their young men are killing each other. Funny how that works; fleeing in Somalia and fleeing in Edmonton.

But Edmonton hasn’t got a drought.

PS: halt Muslim immigration to the West.

And start with the Somalis.
