‘Miami is a really difficult town to be politically correct in…’

None of the above was politically correct, but No one could quite get the Cubans to stop doing things like rubbing their (white) arms when talking about black people. (Most of the Cubans that stayed behind in Castro’s paradise were the black ones.)

And all the Hispanic ethnic group genially despised each other.

It’s a real gay haven, especially South Beach and Coconut Grove, and gay culture in Miami is quite outspoken, and yes, gays can be as racist as straights. Even more so — the Oppressed Victim pie only has so many slices, and competition is stiff.

Most of the blacks in Miami that amounted to anything didn’t live anywhere near the “black neighborhoods,” which were full of crackheads, thugs, and grandmas who couldn’t afford to leave.
