5 Feet of Fury

‘Olbermann dated Ingraham briefly a decade ago’ — hmmmm…

Today, Larry Flynt was Adam Carolla’s podcast guest (audio), promoting a new book about American political sex scandals.

(Is a language warning even necessary from me, btw?)

It was an uncomfortable interview for listeners, judging from the comments, as the paraplegic Flynt’s labored breathing disturbed some Carolla fans.

(And I wonder if it has dawned on either Carolla or “news girl” Alison yet that they were both joking about bullet calibers in front of a man who’d been paralysed by a gunshot wound.)

Of course, Flynt mouthed his usual stuff about “hypocrisy being the greatest sin” (a popular liberal talking point) and tossed in stuff from his book, about Abe Lincoln being secretly gay.

(At the end of the interview, Carolla kidded Flynt’s young, Jewish, Ivy League co-author, “Your parents must be SO proud…”)

Then the Ed Schultz meltdown came up.

(The podcast was taped before Schultz’s apology to Laura Ingraham, for calling her a “slut.”)

This led Flynt to share a piece of Beltway gossip about Laura Ingraham.

Flynt claimed that he’d talked to a guy who’d dated her, and who told Flynt that Ingraham had inadervertently paid him (the boyfriend) the ultimate compliment.

“She gagged.”

I hope no further explanation will be necessary.

Carolla pushed back: “Come on, you’re making a joke, right, Larry? Nobody really said that to you.”

Flynt swore it was true.

Now:

Doesn’t that sound exactly like the kind of thing you can picture somebody saying about a woman he had a grudge against— maybe after a drink or two, in an effort to impress Larry Flynt?

Just askin…
