Journalists: your moral and intellectual superiors

March 27, 2011 By Kathy Shaidle

Some of you still read newspapers. The question is — why?

In 2004, when my husband (then fiancé) was working with a local candidate during a nomination race (which ended two weeks before our wedding), I decided to start a blog. In the “Links” section of my blog I included my former employer, a private Christian university in Toronto, as well as another conservative Christian organization with which I had previously been involved.

A few days before our wedding, a story by the incredibly inept Peter O’Neil appeared in the Vancouver Sun, stating that the candidate my husband was working with had ties to both of these organizations – based solely on the fact that his campaign manager’s fiancé had linked to them on her blog.
