Mark Steyn smacks down Bernie ‘Nobody Knows I’m Jewish’ Farber

Mark Steyn mocks the “sad, irrelevant man” whose moral compass cracked years ago:

Today the delegitimization of Israel is all but universal: Indeed, these days Palestinian leaders pay more lip service to the “two-state solution” than Europeans. On Israel’s national day, prominent Britons of Jewish background write to The Guardian to deplore the existence of the Jewish state. And “Israeli Apartheid Week” is multiculti Toronto’s gift to the world.

Demonstrating his uncanny ability to miss the point, the head of the Canadian Jewish Congress tweeted today:

“Anonymity breeds ugliness online.”

You would think even this sad, irrelevant fool might have noticed that the striking feature of today’s “ugliness” is how non-anonymous it is. Year on year, the world is more cheerfully upfront about its anti-Semitism. Maybe he could ask John Galliano, or Julian Assange.

But sometimes, as when a baby has her throat slashed, what’s not said is just as telling.

Like a dog before an earthquake, I sensed Steyn was building up to another Farber smackdown. I’m designating that one a 7.1.

For those out of the loop:

You see, Bernie is (days and days after the fact) performing typical liberal faux outrage kabuki over a thread at SmallDeadAnimals. When liberal reporter Jim Travers died suddenly last week, Kate posted a simple, somber notice of his death. The first comments on the thread were respectful, but were soon joined by nasty ones. Then nice commenters slagged the nasty ones. It was an unseemly display — but it began with the best of intentions. It’s called the internet, that wacky new invention Bernie Farber still can’t quite figure out.

That someone who has a newspaper column (and I don’t) would feel that somebody else’s blog post from last week was important enough to write 700 words about yesterday is pathetic enough.

That Bernie Farber still gets his “news” from whatever “news”paper that was, is even sadder.

And by the way Bernie:

I don’t need “anonymity” to “breed ugliness online.” Unlike you, I have the balls to attach my ugly name to my ugly words, and present my ugly face in public while sticking up for ungrateful, clueless Jews like you on the streets of Toronto. Your drive-by, second-hand “insights,” for which you are rewarded handsomely, are as stale, irrelevant and inaccurate as ever.

I thought you were leaving. What’s taking so long?

UPDATE — something else Bernie Farber forgot to tweet about, while he was busy slagging pro-Israel bloggers on Twitter…

Claire Berlinski, who is on the scene in Itamar, writes that [three-month-old] Hadas was, in fact, decapitated:

“Anyone who in any way tries to rationalize or minimize this or to suggest that this is a fitting punishment for anything needs to go out and look at a three-month-old baby and ask himself what it would take to climb over a fence, climb in a window, and cut off that child’s head.”

As I said yesterday, the photos taken at the Itamar massacre are virtually indistinguishable from those at the Tate/LaBiana murders.

Islam is a death-sex cult, and “Palestine” is the Spahn Ranch.

Conveniently, leftists have no trouble cheering on the Manson Family and the “Palestinians” at the same time.

UPDATE:

I went to the web site of the Canadian Jewish Congress this morning and lo and behold: GURNISHT!

The screen shot is posted above.

There are lots of very important items on the web site, but Itamar? Nowhere.

Decapitated Jewish babies? Nowhere. Orhpans – nowhere.

Nothing on their Twitter feed so far, nothing in their Antisemitism section, or in the “What is Antisemitism” page. You know what I think? I think that stabbing Jews in the middle of the night, and cutting off Jewish babies heads is actually pretty antisemitic.
