The “even” is what separates a liberal “man” from a conservative one, to whom the addition of that qualifier would never occur.
Notice he can’t even bring himself to call himself a “man,” merely a “person.”
Note to his wife: you might “even” want to get your own gun, babe.
And if “produce is being stolen,” I watch for the Mexicans. They’re the only ones left who know how to pick it.
