Liberal ‘writer’ on Rush Limbaugh, abortion and race: ‘outrageous’ is the new ‘it’s true but it sounds… nasty…’

Has anyone else noticed the quality of writing/thinking at Mediaite doesn’t match its slick design? You look at the site and expect a certain level of quality. It looks… expensive.

Then you find yourself reading college newspaper level stuff.

Today, I too heard Rush Limbaugh say on the air “Planned Parenthood is doing the job the Klan couldn’t finish” after reporting that just under 60% of black pregnancies in New York end in abortion.

What the “outraged” Mediaite writer doesn’t tell you, but Rush did, was that:

a) the “controversial” billboard announcing this factually accurate statistic was paid for by “a black minister” — which I guessed when Rush announced that the company behind the billboard was called “Lamar Advertising” out of “Louisiana or Alabama.” (“Lamar” is such an African American name/word.)

b) also unmentioned and left out of the Mediaite version of the Limbaugh transcript is the word “(interruption)”.

Here’s what the official Limbaugh transcript says, and it reflects more accurately what I heard:

Somebody puts up a billboard trying to defend them and they get run out of town by Al Sharpton and the rest.  My God, folks, this is intolerable.  (interruption) Well, I don’t know if we could go that far.  (laughing)  Planned Parenthood is doing the job the Klan could never finish, is that what you think?  I don’t know. But that’s unacceptable, a 60% abortion rate among black women in New York City, and then you turn around and look at who they’re probably voting for, under what premise?  They’re voting for Democrats under the premise that Democrats care about ’em.  They’re voting for ’em under the premise that Democrats are gonna protect ’em, that Democrats are gonna protect ’em from racism and sexism and bigotry and homophobia and all these other rotten things that conservative Republicans are doing to them. (interruption) It was a black minister who put up the billboard? A black minister was responsible for the billboard, from Louisiana, or Alabama, wherever it was, a black minister put the billboard up and the Reverend Sharpton came along and was threatening to protest the billboard.  Stop and think of this.  Would you be voting for, giving money to, marching for, supporting a party that is quasi-responsible for 60% of your babies being killed?

What does the “interruption” indicate?

Rush listeners already know. Limbaugh was interrupted by “Bo Snerdley,” who “interrupts” Rush (unheard by us) all the time.

Bo Snerdley” is Rush’s long time Palm Beach call screener. And he’s African American.

It was Snerdley’s line, and Rush repeated it on the air with a chuckle. Hence the “laughing.” They’re sharing a black humored joke, that also, like many black humored jokes, is too painfully true for the simpleminded to understand or accept.

Luckily, some Mediaite commenters have posted anti-black, pro-genocidal quotes by Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger — which, again, Limbaugh listeners are already familiar with but are probably news to the site’s liberal readers.

Also, I see a new-to-me meme from the “progressive” commenters, calling Rush Limbaugh a “pedophile.” No idea what that’s about. Frankly, I can’t be bothered googling to find out.
