Is Canada increasing immigration or decreasing it?

February 15, 2011 By Kathy Shaidle

Exhibit A:

CBC poll asks: Do you agree with the government’s plan to reduce immigration?” (Two-thirds say “Yes”.)

Exhibit B:

Conservatives become the party of Big Immigration

From the comments:

“Canada’s post-recession economy demands a high level of economic immigration to keep our economy strong.”

Bull crap.

In today’s Financial Post:

China now the second-largest economy

“Japan lost its place to China last year as the world’s second-largest economy…”

China & Japan – two of the most non-diverse, non-multicultural, non-immigrant-destination economies on the planet, vying for 2nd place in the world. Japan rose to greatness after WWII, and China is doing it now. So – I call total B.S. – healthy economies DO NOT need massive immigration to be strong….
