Why I don’t fear the Globe & Mail’s rumored hit piece about me

When I returned from Israel last spring, I was reliably informed that an aging closet case at the Globe & Mail was planning to write a hit piece on little old “racist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, Islamophobic” me.

Please. Surely my little old vacation adventures aren’t important enough to warrant mention in Canada’s paper of record — even if a well known, highly paid Liberal Party operative DID threaten to “have his people physically prevent me from entering the State of Israel.” (Now that sounds like a juicy story, doesn’t it? Don’t hold your breath waiting to read it.)

That was almost a year ago and for whatever reason (a Lane Bryant discount store opening, perhaps?), the toxic attentions of said flouncy old queen settled upon who knows who instead.

I don’t read the Globe & Mail, except for Lynn Crosbie and Margaret Wente. And I don’t know anybody who does.

Here’s why. This is something that one of their columnists actually “wrote” today:

Debating multiculturalism gives a voice to the angry, the frustrated and yes, the bigoted. It makes newer Canadians feel less welcome. It has the best walking on egg shells and the worst throwing eggs.

I invite this guy to contact some representative “bigots” and see what they have to say on the topic of multiculturalism.

For example, I’m sure Salim Mansur would be willing, if not exactly delighted, to speak to him, since he’s just penned a thoughtful report on the topic — that’s downloadable free of charge, no less.

So would this Sikh dude, clearly another “bigot.”

I dare him to contact either man for comment.
