Actually, Warren Kinsella…

January 11, 2011 By Kathy Shaidle

If more people owned guns — in Canada and the US — then more newspaper columnists would be able to tell the difference between “rifle crosshairs” and, er, “printer’s cropmarks.”

PS: Giffords owned a Glock. Too bad she left it home, since Arizona is open carry, and the sight of her packing might have made Nutboy think twice. You never know.

But would a nut really be deterred? Well, ask yourself:

If crazy gunmen truly “can’t control themselves,” would Lee Harvey Oswald or Charles Whitman really have gone ahead and shot people while in the presence of an armed, uniformed police officer?

Yes or no?

Sirhan Sirhan? Probably yes.

Otherwise, I say no.

Therefore, “crazed gunmen” can control themselves. (Which means they aren’t entirely “crazed.”)
